We need volunteers for the following shifts and jobs:
8am - 10am: Help vendors unload and set-up, assist musicians with set-up, etc.
10am - 12 noon: Help visitors at our "Messages to Japan" table (set up supplies, help people write messages, direct them to the photographer, etc.)

SeattleJapanRelief.org and the Consulate General of Japan in Seattle will hold a special community event on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Seattle Center’s Kobe Bell and north lawn area by the Seattle Fountain and the Fisher Pavilion. The event, held on the one-year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake will focus on three themes: remembrance, preparedness and rebuilding.

We are again in a great deal of debt to Hideki Saito for his hard work in pushing out the latest version of our site. He, along with Hitomi Yokoyama Ross and Eric Jorgeson of Sakura-Con have put so much time and energy into this website.
Using this new platform, we will be better able to transition from the work of supporting Japan in relief, to supporting Japan in recovery. News from Tohoku and Eastern Japan can be found on the left, and as we continue to evolve and grow we now have a website that can grow with us.

On Wednesday, July 27th, representative from seattlejapanrelief.org's 3 charity partners made presentation and fielded questions about their organizations ongoing and planned activities in support of the Tohoku region.
Chuck Aanenson, CEO of Peace Winds America was joined by King and Kitsap County American Red Cross CEO Randy Hutson and Monica Kusakabe of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. Of the over 80 coalition member organizations, 17 community members sat and watched at the Japanese Cultural and Community center of Washington.
